Beautiful hotel with pleasant stuff from check-in to check-out and neat and very specious rooms. Exceptionally comfortable beds, a mini-bar, climate control, and a personal safe in the room...

The staff was amazingly nice. The location is stunning, right near a tram stop. Easy walk to National Pipe Museum. The breakfast is incredible. The room is exquisite and well-designed. Great view and a shower and a tub in the bathroom.

My daughter and I had a very pleasant stay at 717. Our suite - Van Goethe - was spacious and comfortable and elegantly decorated. The only downside was the steep staircase leading to our room but the staff were helpful in assisting us with our bags and were also happy to bring tea and biscuits on a tray at our convenience. Breakfast was also offered in the Stravinsky Room which was light and airy. The warm croissants and bread rolls were delicious and the boiled eggs were perfect. The public spaces were delightful - exquisite decor and the gentle strains of classical music. This is a quiet hotel. Definitely not suited for raucous stag night parties! It was a lovely place to bring my young daughter. She particularly enjoyed the Dutch biscuits served with drinks on request!
I had a problem accessing the Internet late at night. The hotel provides a password to access their free wifi service but the system had stalled. The assistant manager assured me that there is a 24hr reception service, so theoretically I could gave called down and asked for a reset! As mentioned, the stairs here are narrow and a little rickety. The house is listed so an elevator isn't possible. Guests with mobility issues should be aware of this.

The location and common areas were lovely
We were in room 8. The loo was tiny - luckily we are both thin. Anyone over 6 feet tall or 12 stone would stuggle to sit on it.

I was pleased with the family-friendly room that had five west-facing windows, and having both a shower and a bath was a nice extra touch.

Beautiful hotel, great location, pleasant staff.
No tea with our breakfast and we couldn't find the wine tray or tea tray!

Although the hotel is located very close to shopping and dining streets, the hotel was very quiet throughout the day and night. The hotel was well decorated and had a very pleasant ambient. The room and the private bathroom where we stayed were clean, modern and well-sized. We loved the many large windows in the room which kept the interior bright and cool during our stay in the hot month of July.
We had 3 minor dislikes - (1) The hotel did not have proper air- conditioning (during the hot month of July). Instead the hotel provided a cool air dispensing machine (mobile type) to cool the room. This machine has an exhaust duct that must be placed through a window to the exterior of the room. When the machine is running, the duct prevented us from closing the window completely during the some nights to keep out the mosquitos. (2) The staff, although always polite and friendly, were not able to help us to book tickets to the main museums. (3) There were no variations in the breakfast. We had the same offering during our five days stay in the hotel.
